Sebastian received his B.S. in chemistry from the Universidad de Antioquia in 2021, there he work with Prof. Albeiro Restrepo and PhD. Natalia Rojas in the development of QM/MM approaches to study the absorption of Ibuprofen into lipid membranes. Previously, he also worked on hydrogen adsorption on molybdenum carbides under the guidance of Prof. Carlos Cárdenas and Prof. Tatiana Gómez at the Universidad de Chile and on molecular quantum electrodynamics at the University of Rochester with Arkajit Mandal and Prof. Frank Huo.

His interest in the Huo group are mainly focused on the Vibrational Strong Coupling in optical cavities.
